Why Closet Lighting Matters

Proper closet lighting isn't just about aesthetics; it's about functionality and convenience. A dimly lit closet can make it difficult to find what you're looking for, leading to frustration and wasted time. Good lighting can also highlight your wardrobe and make your closet feel more luxurious and organized. Artisan Custom Closets offers a range of options to suit any style and budget, ensuring your closet is both beautiful and practical.

Types of Closet Lighting

Overhead Lighting

The most common type of closet lighting is overhead lighting. This can include ceiling-mounted fixtures, recessed lighting, or even chandeliers for a touch of elegance. Overhead lights provide general illumination and can be combined with other lighting options for a comprehensive solution.

Task Lighting

The purpose of task lighting is to illuminate specific areas of your closet, such as shelves, drawers, and hanging rods. LED strip lights or puck lights are popular choices for task lighting. They can be installed under shelves or inside cabinets to provide focused light where you need it most.

Accent Lighting

Accent lighting adds a layer of sophistication to your closet. It can be used to highlight specific areas or features, such as a shoe display or a collection of handbags. Rope lights or small spotlights are ideal for creating an accent lighting effect.

Motion Activated Closet Light

One of the most innovative solutions in closet lighting is the motion activated closet light. These lights turn on automatically when you open the closet door or enter the space, providing instant illumination without the need for switches. They are energy-efficient and convenient, making them a popular choice for modern closets.

Choosing the Right

Closet Lighting

When selecting the right lighting for your closet, consider the size and layout of the space, as well as your personal preferences and needs. For a small closet, a single overhead light might be sufficient. For larger closets, a combination of overhead, task, and accent lighting may be necessary to ensure comprehensive illumination.

Benefits of Motion Activated Closet Lights

Convenience

Motion activated closet light systems are incredibly convenient. You don't have to fumble for a switch in the dark; the lights turn on as soon as you need them. This is especially useful when your hands are full or when you're in a hurry.

Energy Efficiency

These lights are designed to be energy-efficient. They only turn on when motion is detected and turn off automatically after a period of inactivity. This helps to reduce electricity usage and lower your energy bills.

Safety

Motion activated lights can also enhance safety. They provide immediate visibility, reducing the risk of trips and falls in dark closets. This is particularly beneficial for children and the elderly.

From start to finish, every member of the Artisan team was extremely professional. For us, there were 2 important things that we found ultra exceptional - (1) during the initial estimate, there was absolutely no pressure to buy (which we experienced with other companies) and (2) Artisan works throughout north GA - not just in the metro ATL area. We are extremely pleased with the finished product.
