Q What is the process for getting a custom closet?
- The process begins with a complimentary in-home consultation. Our designer will take measurements and discuss your storage needs, bringing samples and photos of our offerings for you to browse.
- After the consultation, your designer will review 3D designs of your custom closet with you and provide an exact price. Once designs are finalized, we begin preparations for your closet.
- Finally, our installers will build and assemble your custom closet. From design to installation, we handle every detail to create beautiful storage solutions tailored to your needs.
Q How long does the process take?
The timeline varies with project size and complexity. After design approval, it typically takes about 6-8 weeks for production and installation. The initial in-home consultation lasts 1-2 hours, and installations are usually completed in one day.
Q What should I expect from a design consultation?
For every project, we will conduct an in-home design consultation. During the consultation, your designer will:
- Measure and assess your space
- Discuss design elements and storage needs, bringing samples and photos for you to browse
- Provide recommendations and potentially draw your design on-site
This process takes 1-2 hours, depending on the size and complexity of the space. We also offer showroom consultations where you can see examples of our work and meet with a designer, and virtual appointments are available upon request.

Q How long has Artisan Custom Closets been in business?
Founded in 2011, we have grown exponentially while staying committed to transforming each client's space into an organized oasis, enhancing both functionality and style.
Q What materials are used in your closets? Do you use wood?
Our closets are made with a high-quality thermos-fused melamine that is extremely attractive and durable. It will not chip, crack, fade, or warp, and it comes in about 30 colors and textures.
Q How deep are your closet units?
The standard depth is 14 inches, but we can customize them to fit your preferences and needs.
Q How long do your products last?
We guarantee our products for as long as you own your home! We also offer a limited lifetime warranty, if ever your closet were to have any defects.
Q How many colors do you offer?
We offer about 30 colors and textures.
Q Does your closet system stand on the floor or hang on the wall?
- We offer both wall-hung and floor-based units.
- We build using a cleat system, where cleats get drilled into studs that hold the system up and keep your unit sturdily attached to the wall. Some designs have the floor as support and others hang solely on the wall. Though some believe that floor-based units are sturdier, they are equally stable and secure.
Q How do I care for my closet system?
- Cleaning: For cleaning your melamine shelves, we recommend using a normal household cleaner such as Fantastic or Formula 409. For wood veneer systems, use regular household wood cleaners.
- Adjusting Shelves: You can also adjust the placement of your shelves to accommodate your wardrobe. Most shelves sit on metal pins and can be easily moved by lifting the shelf off the pins and relocating the pins to a higher or lower hole as needed. Simply pull the pins straight out and insert them into the desired hole.
Q What is your return policy?
We do not accept any returns for our custom storage solutions. However, we do offer a limited lifetime warranty to repair or replace any component with defects.
Q Can I get lighting for my closets?
Yes, we offer several lighting options for your custom storage solutions. Your designer will guide you based on your needs and preferences.
Q What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. We also have multiple financing offers through our collaboration with Synchrony. We do not accept cash or checks.
